600 Engineering, a highly successful general engineering company, were approached to manufacture a rugged bespoke camper unit to fit an ex-defence UNIMOG truck.

Provided with some simple drawings, sketches and ideas, DSI used our experience to design and engineer complete models and working drawings for 600 Engineering's manufacture.

The design included a skin of complicated fabricated aluminium panels mounted to an internal steel frame, side opening access to internal storage and an electrically operated opening, double hinged roof with an integrated self-erecting and folding tent.

There is a wealth of knowledge within the organisation and 600 has since given DSI a free reign to design and build valve bodies and electronic control systems for our new 4WD central tyre inflation system. Prototypes have been tested in the field with great success and DSI is now engaged in supplying complete systems for our production units."
